Tips to Help Get Your Deposit Back!
As many of you prepare to move out of your accommodation, here are some quick tips to help you avoid charges and maximise your chances of getting your deposit back in full.
Before you leave:
· Clean your room and shared areas thoroughly, including kitchens and bathrooms
· Remove all rubbish and personal belongings
· Check for any damage and fix minor issues where possible
· Return all keys on time
· Take photos of the property after cleaning as evidence of its condition
REMEMBER:
Remember that cleaning costs, rubbish removal, missing items, or damage beyond normal wear and tear can all lead to deductions from your deposit.
Most deposits are protected in a tenancy deposit scheme, which means you can challenge unfair deductions if needed — so keep copies of photos, inventories, and important emails.
