Leeds University Union (LUU) and the University of Leeds have successfully achieved reaccreditation through the SOS Drug and Alcohol Impact programme.

The accreditation recognises both organisations continued commitment to reducing drug and alcohol-related harm and supporting student wellbeing.
Delivered by SOS UK, the Drug and Alcohol Impact programme supports universities and student unions to develop evidence-based approaches to alcohol and drug awareness, prevention and support.
LUU and the University of Leeds also have a working partnership with Forward Leeds, who help to ensure students have access to accurate information, practical advice and specialist support throughout their time in Leeds.
The partnership has delivered a range of initiatives to help students stay safe and make informed decisions, including the No Regrets campaign, which encourages safer drinking, support at Freshers’ events, wellbeing campaigns throughout the academic year, and the How to Party Properly online resource, which provides practical advice on alcohol, drugs, sexual health and personal safety.
During the reaccreditation process, student auditors praised the partnership’s ‘clear commitment to promoting student wellbeing through effective planning, evidence-based initiatives and continuous improvement.’
This achievement is the result of the hard work and dedication of colleagues across both organisations, all committed to making student life safer, healthier and more supportive.
Amy also thanked Forward Leeds for its contribution to the reaccreditation, with special recognition for Recovery Coordinator Amelia Clark for her ongoing support and commitment to the partnership.
The reaccreditation reflects the strength of partnership working across Leeds and a shared commitment to creating an environment where students feel informed, supported and able to seek help without judgement.
