Universities in Leeds have ever been more diverse, with our international students weaving into life in the UK. This diversity is part of what creates opportunities at university, with different perspectives and cultural exchanges.
So far this academic year, we have held so many exciting events- with one to note being Winter World Unite Festival 2025!
This was a week-long festival where students from a mix of societies- cultural, artistic, and performative- were inspired and encouraged to share their culture in amazing ways.
From dance classes and performances, to music and food, World Unite fest truly showed our student body the importance of our wonderful international students on campus.
LUU has opened many multicultural food stalls over campus.
In Old Bar, we have traditionally cosy English pub food, such as fry ups and burgers. Over in Union Square we have Waki Maki turning Japanese classics into exciting everyday lunch. Tikka Nation is a newer student favourite, with convenient Indian food to-go!
There are so many food outlets at LUU that support our multicultural campus- we can’t forget Philapita, Pearls Bubble Tea, and Cooplands too!
We also have an International Students Advisory Board, inviting a variety of cultures and degree levels throughout your university.
This is a student led forum, hosted by LUU, to provide a welcoming space for our International Students to share experiences, raise concerns propose ideas that can shape university life.
This open meeting allows our international students to engage with our staff and stakeholders so we can allow them to be heard and understood, putting them as central to our mission as anyone else.
Here at LUU, we know we can always do more for our students. So, what else do you want to see?
Your voice has the power to make actual change, and LUU is giving you the opportunity to do so!
