I was born and raised in the Netherlands, while my parents were born and grew up in Suriname. My ancestors originally came from India, which makes me Hindustani. There’s still so much for me to learn about myself, my identity, and my roots, but this collage reflects who I am and how I see myself.
This collage brings together all the little things that make me who I am. Heineken and the Dutch flag represent the country where I was born. I’ve always had a strange fascination with lobsters, no idea why. I included the colour pink, because it is my favourite and drew myself with big golden hoops, because no matter where I go, I’m always wearing them.
I love a good iced coffee and going out for dinner. Sunflowers never fail to make me happy and the clothes in the collage reflect my everyday style. And finally, there’s my adorable orange cat back home, named Boef.
