LUU Welcome Week '25

Welcome to LUU - Your home away from home

Located at the heart of campus, Leeds University Union (LUU) is your Students’ Union. Led by our Student Exec, and with student voice at the heart of every decision, your Union is independent to the University, here to represent you and ensure that you love your time at Leeds.

With lots of study spaces, cafes and bars, a wide range of events – from workshops to gigs – and with more than 350 clubs and societies to choose from, you’re sure to find something to do at LUU. You have access to opportunities to feel celebrated, empowered and supported, with cultural and liberation campaigns, feedback and discussion forums, and student-led projects. There is independent and confidential advice available at the LUU Help & Support team, and plenty of part-time jobs to pick up some skills for your CV at our shops, cafes, events, and offices.

Make friends, fuel your passions, gain new skills, and have fun at LUU!

Keep checking the Calendar as more events are confirmed!

Find your club or society at the fair

The Clubs and Societies Fair will be hosted on 22 – 24 September. It is your chance to meet all of our 350+ clubs & societies and find out all the ways you can get involved and make the most out of your time at Leeds.

Remember to come back everyday! We have different clubs and societies for you everyday.

Hello from your Student Exec

We’re your Student Exec, we are a team of elected students here to represent you, stand up for your interests, and help shape student life at Leeds. Whether it’s pushing for better mental health support, tackling the cost of living, improving academic experiences, or making sure everyone feels welcome and included – we’re here for you.

Our office is on the 2nd floor of the Union, right next to the Liberation Hub. Drop by anytime, whether you’ve got an idea, a concern, or just want to find out what we’re working on. You’ll also see us around campus throughout the year, especially during Welcome Week and major events.

Follow us (and LUU) on Instagram to keep up with what we’re doing, how you can have your say, and how to get involved. We’d love to hear from you.

– Lydia, Shivani, Amara, Katrina, Eden and Saffy
