We hope that you had an amazing time during Welcome Week 2025! From meeting new people, to discovering new hobbies- just because Welcome Week is over, doesn’t mean that the fun (or the support) has to stop.
At Leeds University Union, we’re here to support and inspire you all year round. Whether you’re looking for advice, want to make new friends, or simply need a little pick-me-up, we can help.
Feeling overwhelmed? Need help setting into life at Leeds? Our LUU Advice team is here for you.
Our support continues beyond Welcome Week, and we’re here for you every step of the way. LUU Advice is a free and confidential service, independent from the University of Leeds, supporting you with any issues whilst at university. Whether it is support with housing, exam stress, mental health, financial struggles, or more… Our trained advisors don’t judge, and you’re in control.
Contact us by email: advice@luu.ac.uk, or visit us at the Help Desk in the LUU foyer.
With over 350 Clubs and Societies at Leeds University Union, there’s something for everyone, and our Give It a Go (GIAG) sessions are the easiest way to find your place! Low-cost, no-pressure, and no-commitment– sessions are open to all students and are a great way to try something new, meet new friends, and settle into uni life at Leeds.
Sports, music, culture, crafts, politics, and more, Give It a Go sessions run year-round, so keep an eye out on our Engage page for regular updates. Created for you, these student-led GIAG’s are perfect for discovering new interests and finding your community- especially if you’re new to Leeds or the UK.
Staying up-to-date with Your Union is the best way to keep connected, feel less alone, and access the support that you need. Our website, social media, and newsletter are updated weekly, and are your first-stop for everything LUU.
