A Passport to Culture is a cultural campaign shaped by your International and Postgraduate Officer Katrina Liu.
Aiming to actively reshape how global identities are understood within the University of Leeds and its wider community, this project shows that our international students are cultural leaders, creators, and community builders.
All of our students in this community share this global inclusivity. Together, we are global.
The aim of this campaign is to recognise the contributions of our international student community through hands-on activities, collaborative public art, storytelling, and city-wide engagement.
Students are encouraged to adopt a ‘We Are Global’ mindset, recognising and participating in the culturally varied community on and beyond campus.
Students will gain visibility, a sense of belonging, and opportunities to express identity in inclusive public spaces. They will develop transferable skills in collaboration, intercultural communication, understanding, and creative production
– a joint project by Leeds University Union, Liverpool Guild of Students and Sheffield Student Union
The “Leeds – A Passport to Culture” campaign acts within a greater campaign known as ‘The Cultural Collective.’
Each organisation plans to host their own campaign framed around the celebration and recognition of the benefits of our international student communities.
The Passport to Culture campaign will feature many different events, stalls and campaigns.
