LUU Advice

Help and Support amidst the Middle East conflict:

In response to the conflict in the Middle East, we are working with the Chaplaincy and wider campus Student Support teams to provide spaces for reflection and support.

Visit our quiet reflection spaces.

This is your space to ask questions, raise concerns, share information, and remember loved ones caught up in the conflict.

*You can also find drinks, snacks, and Ramadan packs.

*Staffed drop-ins available at scheduled times.

PLEASE NOTE: Scheduled times are subject to change, please keep checking back.

Reflection Spaces (March 16-27)

This week’s reflective space can be found at the former Counselling & Wellbeing Room.

This can be found on Floor 1 of LUU, opposite the Advice Office.

Please ask at the Helpdesk if you need help locating the space.

9am – 9pm every day

Here to guide you through any personal challenge

LUU Advice is a free, confidential and independent service, which you can access in person or online. Our trained advisors will talk to you about anything – money, housing, academic problems and wellbeing; if we cannot help directly, we will help you find someone who can.

Our service is independent from the University, which means you can freely discuss your academic concerns, and we’ll only share what you are happy for us to share.

Opening times

Monday – Friday | 9:30am-4:30pm

*Please note: We open at 10:00am on Wednesdays*

We can help students with pretty much everything, but here are some key areas we’ve supported students with before:

  • Living in Leeds, staying safe and any house hunting or renting problems
  • Exam support, appeal procedures or any aspect of studying at Leeds
  • Postgraduate and international student specific queries
  • Budgeting advice and financial support
  • Mental health, relationship and addiction advice

Sometimes we partner with the University to make it easier for you to get the help you need:

Student testimonials

“I was feeling very low and unhappy and I was spending a lot of time alone in my room. I didn’t want my friends and family to worry about me but I knew I needed to get some help. I went to the Counselling and Wellbeing Drop in in LUU- I was able to speak to an Adviser the same day- who helped me to get the support I needed and I feel more positive about things now.”
