How to find the clubs and societies you'll love

There are many ways to find the right Clubs and Societies for you. The easiest way is to scroll through our online listings and see what appeals to you, but if you’re really not sure or want to try something new, why not use our Find Your Fit tool?

Find Your Fit is a 60 second online quiz that suggests clubs and societies for you to try out based on your interests, time, and budget- a great time saver that suggests some unexpected gems.

We’re also proud of Give It A Go scheme, which is the perfect way to introduce yourself to LUU life. Give It A Go runs every semester, providing student-ran Clubs and Societies taster sessions. It’s a fantastic way to try something new, without having to commit to a membership- make friends, and find your fit!

A small selection from our 350+ clubs and societies

We are so pleased to announce that the recent StudentCrowd awards has listed LUU as the Best University for Clubs and Societies!

LUU has been ranked the 3rd best students’ union in the UK, as well as 1st for clubs and societies – something we’re very proud of.

This success follows our recent win at the  Whatuni Student Choice Awards, where we were crowned 4th best students’ union in the UK (continuing our run of ranking top 5!) – so it’s fair to say it’s been a great year for Leeds University Union.

Meet your Activities Exec

The Activities Executive is made up of 13 elected students– voted every year to represent our 300+ Clubs and Societies at LUU, and their members.

Supported by the Activities and Opportunities Officer, the Activities Exec represents the views and interests of society members to decision makers at the Union and University. That way, we can ensure that they are providing the best experience possible for our members.

Anyone in a club or a society is welcome to nominate themselves for a position on the Activities Exec team, and joining is the best way to combine making real improvements for club and society members, developing your skills, and meet new people- all training provided! Great for you, and for other students – what’s not to love?

Interested in becoming a part of the Activities Exec? Take a look at this year’s team, and keep an eye out on our page for updates on our 2026 elections.
