LUU Advice is a free, confidential and independent service, which you can access in person or online. Our trained advisors will talk to you about anything, from housing and exams, to budgeting and relationships.
Our service is independent from the University, which means you can freely discuss your academic concerns, and we’ll only share what you are happy for us to share.

“I was worried about my friend because he was quiet and seemed stressed out. He told me that he had spent a lot of money on online gambling websites and now he couldn’t pay his fees. I didn’t know how to help him and it was causing me a lot of stress. I emailed LUU Help & Support and they arranged for me to have a confidential conversation with an Adviser, without giving my friend’s name. She listened, and gave me the support and information I needed to help my friend, and myself.”
“I received an email from my School to say that I had been accused of plagiarism. I felt very worried and ashamed, and I didn’t want to tell anyone about it. I saw on LUU Engage that there was an anonymous online Q&A session to help students find out more about plagiarism, so I joined by Zoom. I kept my mic and camera off and did not ask any questions, but I watched while an Adviser talked about plagiarism and what would happen next. I realised I was not alone, and it gave me confidence to ask for help.”
“I was feeling very low and unhappy and I was spending a lot of time alone in my room. I didn’t want my friends and family to worry about me but I knew I needed to get some help. I went to the Counselling and Wellbeing Drop in in LUU- I was able to speak to an Adviser the same day- who helped me to get the support I needed and I feel more positive about things now.”
