Your Union. Your Voice. Your Future.

Every four years, we (Leeds University Union) assess our organisational ‘strategy,’ – a plan made up of our shared vision, goals, and values for the years ahead.

This year’s Strategy Survey will guide the plan, defining what we stand for, where we’re going, and how we’ll support students like you from 2026 – 2030.

LUU’s strategy is written by you.

The student voice sits at the heart of everything we do, and we need your help to shape our next chapter.

Why Does My Voice Matter?

Every idea at LUU begins with you.

From basic needs support to wellbeing spaces, your voice builds the foundation of your Union. Our students have already changed so much. Now, in 2025, it’s time to dream bigger, aim higher, and shape student life for the better.

So many great ideas came from student voices that need to be heard. We’re especially keen to hear from underrepresented and minority voices, to make sure that our plans truly reflect the diversity of our student community. We want your needs to not just be met, but championed.

Your feedback has built real spaces and changed real lives.

How Does The Survey Work?

The Strategy Survey is a vital part of ensuring that our future plans truly reflect students’ needs.

Whilst the Student Exec lead, it is YOU that guides these decisions. Your survey feedback will determine the next five years of your Union.

From new initiatives to improved wellbeing support, societies, and social spaces- this is your opportunity to help create an exciting future for our diverse student community, to champion underrepresented voices, and make your voice heard.

Student input shapes every corner of the Union. Your ideas have already created real change across campus.

Your Impact

Essentials

You told us that you needed support during the cost-of-living crisis, so we created Essentials, a basic needs hub providing students with cost-free essential goods.

Crossroads

You wanted a safe, social space for gaming and community, we created Crossroads, a hub for offline and online gaming.

PGR Lounge

You needed a quiet, comfortable study space, so we built the PGR Lounge, a dedicated space for Postgraduate Research students, meetings, and quiet study.

Free Sanitary Products

You asked for sustainable period and health products on campus- we made them freely available around your Union.

Free Drug Testing Kits

You told us that you want to feel and stay safe at our bars and venues, we now provide free drug testing kits at our Advice Office.

24-Hour Libraries

You asked for places to study outside of regular hours to support exam working, we worked with the university, and now one of our most popular campus libraries is open 24/7.

Plus Programme Funding

You told us that you wanted Clubs and Societies to be more cost accessible, the Plus Programme now supports students from lower-income households subsidised costs.

All of these ideas came from you. Your voice has built the Union we know today- and now it’s time to imagine what comes next

Don’t miss your chance to shape what happens next.

Your feedback doesn’t just influence our plans, it defines them.

The next stage of our story starts with you.
